Team Building:  An Overused Phrase
There has been rah-rah about team building throughout industry for close to 30 years now, and most business leaders have become heartily sick of hearing it.  But the truth is, many of the approaches taken to build teams have been - at best - what we at Rodeo! called "aspirin" approaches:  "Take this training and call me if the pain hasn't gone away."  Great Team Building includes both education and skill, but done well, it produces results that just cannot be achieved without having a team.  And make no mistake, you already have teams throughout your organization, from the executive level to the front line who produce your product.  The question is:  Are they skilled teams, or are they ineffective groups stuck in the same place with one another?
